AC Milan to profit from Paqueta’s big money transfer
Former AC Milan attacking midfielder is poised for a big money move in the summer with the Rossoneri set to pocket part of the fee.
The underwhelming performances of Brahim Diaz in the last period, before the match against Inter, and the lack of a proper substitute, led many fans to think once again of Lucas Paqueta.
The Brazilian attacking midfielder who was signed for a fee close to 38 million euros was sold to Lyon one year latter for €20 million. The 24-year-old failed to leave a mark at AC Milan. He struggled to show his immense quality but the situation has completely changed at Olympique Lyon. Paqueta is the absolute protagonist of the French club and also a pillar of the Brazilian national team.
Among some Rossoneri fans there is a bit of regret not having seen Paqueta shine at Milan. In a squad that focuses strongly on young and quality players like the Brazilian he could have done better. His great form in the last two years could be rewarded soon with Paqueta rumored to join a top club at the end of the season.
Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, is aware of having made a deal and is ready to sell the former Flamengo ace at exaggerated figures. In recent days, Lyon have reportedly rejected a €60 million offer from Liverpool for their midfielder.
According to reports from L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain are very interested in Lucas Paqueta. PSG sporting director Leonardo signed the Brazilian at Milan and has tried in the past to bring him in Paris. PSG are preparing for life after Mbappe and Lucas could be one of the faces to start a new cycle at Parc des Princes.
Lyon have set a price tag of 80 million euros for Lucas Paqueta reports L’Equipe. If PSG decide to splash such a high fee AC Milan would pocket 15% of the total figure, meaning 12 million euros. The Rossoneri are monitoring the situation with great interest.
